Our Fascinating History

As part of the Australian Heritage Festival, archivist Fiona Moore will present a lively and interactive lunchtime discussion about the role the Ath has played in Melbourne’s cultural life since 1839.

Did you know our building housed Melbourne’s first museum, library and art gallery, and the first meetings of the city council? Come along to hear more about our fascinating history and tales from our archival collections.

There are more than 250 events in Victoria as part of the Australian Heritage Festival. To access a digital program click here.

The discussion will be held in the library on Monday 29 April from 1-2pm. This is a free event but bookings are required and can be made here.
