The Committee, lead by Treasurer Kevin Quigley, has undertaken a revision of the rules which govern the operation of the Melbourne Athenaeum, last revised and registered in 2007. Members will have an opportunity to raise any questions about these draft rules at the AGM, which will take place in the Library at 1pm on 17 April.

You can read an annotated version of these draft rules here.

Sally Ford and the Idiomatics

Everyone always loves it when we are lucky enough to have Sally Ford and the Idiomatics playing in the Library, so book your tickets soon!

Playing songs of life, love and lived experience, this genre-defying ensemble fuses the musical provenance of its members... from Latin to film music via ska and funk.

Patrick Cronin and Michael Havir provide lush backing arrangements to Sally Ford's wryly observed lyrics. The underscore of keyboards, samples and synth is embellished by trombone, saxophone, flute and even a bit of whistling. Adding some strings magic is Alice Garner on cello.
