{"id":4166,"date":"2026-04-24T01:16:13","date_gmt":"2026-04-24T01:16:13","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/melbourneathenaeum.org.au\/staging\/?p=4166"},"modified":"2026-04-24T01:25:54","modified_gmt":"2026-04-24T01:25:54","slug":"music-ash-davies","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/melbourneathenaeum.org.au\/staging\/music-ash-davies\/","title":{"rendered":"Music: Ash Davies"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">A couple of years ago musician Ash Davies assembled a band to do a concert at the library, playing a selection of instrumental music from previous albums and recordings.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">It went so well that the band (dubbed the True Adventurers) ended up doing some gigs in Brunswick but then, as Ash tells it, \u201cwe all got busy, I got crook and it slowly came to a halt\u201d.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cGiven the constraints of keeping a permanent lineup together I have realised that the True Adventurers are a fluid and floating combo, not just one band of permanent individuals but a band for a moment in time,\u201d says Ash.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">For their upcoming concert in the library there is a new True Adventurers combination joining Ash - Jeb Cardwell on guitar, Rick Plant on bass and Adrian Whitehead on piano - and they will play a set of instrumentals and a few songs.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cI have played with these guys on and off over the years and am really looking forward to joining up together for this performance,\u201d says Ash.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Friday 29 May 2026<br>Doors open at 5.40pm for a 6pm start.<br>This event is free for members and $25 for non-members.<br>Bookings can be made through Trybooking using <a href=\"https:\/\/www.trybooking.com\/DLLHS\">this link<\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>A couple of years ago musician Ash Davies assembled a band to do a concert at the library, playing a selection of instrumental music from previous albums and recordings.
