Talk: Melbourne’s Fascinating Trams

From the horse-drawn carriages of the 1880s to the sleek modern trams of today, author Greg Gardiner takes us on a fascinating ride through the history and memory of a unique urban icon.

A rumbling journey through time, TRAM is a book of stories, a celebration of the city’s living veins. TRAM celebrates the world’s largest tram network, weaving together history, memory and imagination to tell the stories of a city in motion.

Greg Gardiner is a former tram driver and head of research in the Victorian Parliamentary Library.
