Due to the planned protests in the CBD on Saturday 13th September the library will not open.
With authorities asking people to reconsider any plans to travel into the city, we have made this decision to safeguard our members, volunteers and staff.

The Melbourne Athenaeum Library will be closed on Friday September 26 for the Friday before the Grand Final public holiday.
The library will be open regular hours on Saturday September 27.

Today, the Athenaeum Theatre is used for a range of theatre, comedy and music performances, including as a principal venue for the Melbourne International Comedy Festival and Melbourne Opera.
